In this article, Corbett takes a look at a few spots and arguments in history on what beauty means to humanity. The abundance of quotes and unique perspectives will cause it to be a strong article to pull from for my paper. I am excited to use it because I think it pairs really well with the two podcasts I’m going to use.

This podcast would be useful because it is a unique perspective on beauty in my view; something about more about the journey than the destination which, is a pretty universal concept, but I hadn’t really thought about it being paired with beauty. It will go well with my other podcast because they’re both talking about experiences.

I thought the podcast I did would go well in the paper because while Elizabeth’s is more about the journey and the beauty of that, Leo had talked about more acknowledgement and living in the current. I would imagine putting this perspective in addition to that of the journey would pair really well together.

I am really interested in seeing the final result of this essay! I think it will be really interesting to see the historical significance that beauty has had on humanity. I think the article will be a great tool to pull scientific evidence from to help support and strengthen your ideas. I really like how you are going to compare the beauty of a journey with the beauty of living in the present. This contrast, along with the historical evidence, will help you form a really informative and unique essay. Also, because you are talking about their experiences, it might be a good idea to bring in your own experiences with beauty in a historical, journey, or present context. I think this personal note might help tie all the different topics all together. Great job!

The article you chose is really interesting and I like your ideas for your essay. The topic of finding beauty in the journey instead of the destination is a popular view, but it will be interesting to relate it directly to beauty. Maybe consider using Taylor Fowler’s podcast with her trainer Meg. She talk about the peace of the woods and being fully present and i think that would blend well with your second point. Great start, looking forward to reading more into it.
